The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) offers boarding school scholarships Australia-wide to students of Indigenous heritage to help them attain a quality education.
The organisation supports successful applicants in their ongoing educational journey through secondary school, to university, and out into the workforce into their chosen careers.
For many scholarship recipients, living in a regional, rural or remote area means facing financial and geographical barriers that can make further study impossible without support.
Such barriers deny students the chance to pursue their ambitions and deprive our broader community of the contributions they would go on to make in their chosen professions.
Students receiving support through AIEF have been found to be 2.3 times more likely to complete Year 12 than non-AIEF students, and AIEF program graduates are 4 times more likely to study at university*.
The lasting value this scholarship program and its wrap-around support deliver, to participants and to the communities they will serve, cannot be overstated.
