Congratulations to grant recipient, the RAS Foundation

Rural Scholarships recipients all have a genuine desire to contribute to the future of rural and regional NSW.

23 SEPTEMBER 2026. We know the difference a scholarship can make to young people in rural and regional areas — especially those whose opportunities are limited by distance.

That’s why continuing our support of Rural Scholarships in 2027 was an easy decision.

What the scholarships cover

Rural Scholarships provide up to $7,000 in support throughout the year, covering the real, practical costs of studying away from home — accommodation, travel, learning materials, and day-to-day living expenses.

The scholarships are open to students at university, TAFE or college, studying anything from agriculture and veterinary nursing to teaching, medicine or trades — the common thread being a genuine desire to contribute to the future of rural and regional NSW and the ACT.

We’re looking forward to following the journeys of this next group of scholars — learning about their studies, achievements, and the contributions they’ll make to their local communities.

Applications for 2027 Rural Scholarships close 5 October. If you know a young person in regional, rural or remote NSW who could use financial support to study away from home, applications can be made here.
